PACIOLI 28 - Ptuj 2023
01 oktober 2023 to 04 oktober 2023
Slovenia
The 28th Pacioli workshop took place from the 1st to the 4th of October in Ptuj, Slovenia. The workshop attracted a record number of participants, likely influenced by the prior cancellation of workshops due to the pandemic and a collective interest in exploring opportunities for collecting data on sustainability. The workshop was opened by the Minister of Agriculture of Slovenia. In addition to economic analysis (i.e. resilience of farms in Germany, farm rating tool in Hungary and farm income trends in Wales) also analyses looking at other sustainability aspects were presented (farmer engagement with ICT, effects of temperatures on output, adoption of drip irrigation and an evaluation of agrodiversity). Several presentation discussed topics on the transition of the Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN) into the Farm Sustainability Network (FSDN). Experiences in collecting environmental data from Switzerland, Flanders, the Netherlands, Italy and the UK were discussed. Furthermore, methodological issues on the linkage of holdings of FADN and IFS, the definition of identical farms and the opportunities of digitalisation of invoices were discussed. Also, the impacts of collecting environmental data on the sampling plan were discussed. The last session of the workshop presented a number of inspiring examples of using new technologies for farm reporting and farm benchmarking. Experiences from Ireland, Flanders and the Netherlands were presented.
